Three Things Challenge #401

Three Things Challenge #401

The Rules by Pensitivity101:
Every day I’ll list three things that may, or may not, be related. The challenge is to simply read the prompt and see where your creativity takes you, using one, two or all three words in your post. There are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
You can use the 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and the logo if you wish.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post and don’t forget to leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. While you’re there, why not check out some of the other posts too!

Have fun and these are your three things today are:

CHEST
DRAW
DESK

**********By Tessa Dean**********

As I leaned over my desk to draw a picture for my drawing class, I accidentally banged the medical alert button on my chest setting off the alarm at the company who monitors the button 24 hours a day. I was so engrossed in my drawing it wasn’t until the EMT’s broke down my door to come to my aid, that I realized I had missed the voice asking if I was alright. When you do not answer they assume the worst and send help. Now how do I explain this to my landlord. I just might have to use the button to call for help if decides to beat me to a pulp.

Share Your World 10-26-2020

Welcome to Share Your World!

Melanie’s Rules:

I will post four or five different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a Share Your World post.  Then post the link to that blog post or leave your answers in the comments box of my blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your post, title your blog post “Share Your World”  and link it to this post.
  3.  Ping-backs are activated, but how efficiently varies.  I don’t manually approve them, but sometimes they don’t show up immediately.  Why is an unsolved mystery.   For instructions on how ping-backs work, in case you weren’t certain, please click here.  You may wish to leave a link to your blog post in the comments just to be sure.  Thanks!

Questions:

What’s the tallest building you’ve been to the top of? I think it would be the Empire State Building or maybe the Washington Monument. I have no idea which is taller and there is also the Statue of Liberty. Been to the top of all of them, plus numerous lighthouses.

What do you do to keep fit? I am not fit which is part of my current problem. I am undergoing physical therapy in an effort to change that.

What’s your jack-o-lantern carved to look like? I do not have one and don’t intend to have one.

Do you have hope or have you lost it? I have lost my hope pretty much. Life sucks and I can’t see it changing only getting worse.

The Weekly Smile for the 26th of October, 2020 #weeklysmile

It won’t seem like much to most, but I have almost hit 100 subscribers on youtube.com. That is the first milestone and I have 96 now. I am almost there and then I have to “celebrate.” The usual celebration is a “Ask Me Anything Q & A.” I will livestream with a list of questions people send in. If they send them in of course. I have to produce a video asking for questions and they can be anything, hence the title of “Ask Me Anything,” which is a little bit nerve-wracking. #weeklysmile

Weekend Writing Prompt #180 – Vault

Weekend Writing Prompt #180 – Vault

**********

Sandra peered anxiously at the vault. She knew she had to check the safety deposit box. She was pretty sure her soon-to-be ex-husband had cleaned out what savings they had before he took off with her best friend.

“Miss, put in your key,” said the bank manager.

She turned the key afraid to look.

“Empty, ma’am!”

**********56 words**********

Sammi’s Rules:

A word prompt to get your creativity flowing this weekend.  How you use the prompt is up to you.  Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like.  Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise.  If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.

Word Prompt

Vault

Challenge

The challenge is simple: each week you will be given an exact number of words you can use to write a poem or piece of prose.  You can use any format or style you like; go wherever your inspiration takes you.  The only rules are these:

  • your poem / prose must contain this week’s word (see note below).  The word does not have to count towards the exact word count total – it can be in the title, or the first letters of the lines of a poem can spell it out – you can be as creative as you want as long as it’s there somewhere.
  • the length of your poem / prose must match the number of words stated in this week’s challenge.  No more.  No less.
  • A note on the word: you can use any variation of the word (for example: call, calls, calling, called etc).  If you find you are struggling to use this week’s word you may substitute it for a synonym – just include a note to explain the swap.  Remember, this is supposed to be fun!

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Oct. 24/2020

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Oct. 24/2020:

2019-2020 SoCS Badge by Shelley!
https://www.quaintrevival.com/

Linda’s Prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “starts with ‘m’.” Use any word that begins with the letter “m” as the subject or theme for your post. Enjoy!

“M” is for milk shake. I do not like milk by itself, but I love a thick milk shake and banana is one of my favorites. I used to get one every day last summer because there was an ice cream stand right across the street. They were expensive, but I loved them. Unfortunately they didn’t open this year due to the big “V” and I miss it, but it is better that I do not have one every day.

#WeekendCoffeeShare – Hospitals and NANOWRIMO

WeekendCoffeeShare – Hospitals and NANOWRIMO

Coffee, Pen, Notebook, Caffeine, Cup
Picture compliments of Pixabay.com

Thanks to Eclectic Alli for hosting this prompt.

If we were having coffee, I would apologize for being MIA so long. I spent 6 weeks in the hospital due to now having congestive heart failure and a lot of other issues. I had oxygen for quite a while and spent 3.5 of those weeks in a rehab hospital getting off the oxygen. I still have and will have problems breathing, but not needing full-time oxygen yet. Last night I had my fourth sleep study. I have had sleep apnea for at least 15 to 20 years and it has been untreated due to not being able to find a mask to fit. So it is the underlying cause of my health issues. I researched and found that children get sleep apnea so I had to force the hand of my doctor and get them to get me a child’s mask. Hopefully, this will fix the fit issue and I will be able to use a BiPap machine for breathing. Right now I am so exhausted from constantly waking up all night that I am sleeping all day and all night. Not good, plus it causes lots of physical problems with congestive heart failure being one of them.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I am planning on doing NaNoWriMo again this November. I am still working diligently on the novel I started, but it is now in rewrite. Too many things wrong with it, but going to rewrite it for November. It is a thriller and I am obsessed with the story and it has kept me working even though the month I wrote it in originally is long over. I usually quit whatever I started writing for the month. I love this story and am working hard at it. It might not make full novel length so might just be a novella, but I am working to actually finish it eventually even with the rewrite. I have never completed anything I started on NaNoWriMo and this looks like I might actually complete it. It will most likely be posted on my blog or WattPad as a second choice. I have my own blog so not sure I will post it on WattPad.com. However, I still have a ways to go until completion so I will make a decision then.

My blog has been kind of abandoned all these months and now that I have gotten so involved with youtube I have even less time for it. I do videos and do live streaming for sprints for writing. I have gotten over my fear of the camera and there is a link to my channel in the signature below if you want to check it out. I lost a lot of subscribers when I was in the hospital so working towards my first goal of 100 subscribers again. I only have 8 to go at the moment. 100 is the first goal on youtube.com.

I lost a lot of the prompts I was doing. Some for sad reasons and some I don’t know what happened. So I am looking for new ones to keep me writing.

Be safe everyone,
