And She’s Off
By Tessa Dean October 2020
Marjorie’s blond curls bounced as she made her way to the pink boat moored at the marina. Today was a school holiday, and Marjorie and her mother had come to the bay to look around. It wasn’t long before Marjorie had slipped her small hand out of her mother’s and took off running towards the water.
“Marjorie, no!” her mother shouted while a pickpocket tried to grab her purse. She looked up, just in time to see her child sailing away on the pink boat. She threw her purse at the guy and ran, screaming at the boat to stop.
