Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “the last thing you put in your fridge.” Start your post with the last thing you put in your fridge. Let your mind wander from there. Enjoy!

Ok, now this will send a little weird, but for me it is a necessity. I live in public housing and so we have a population of unsavory characters including bugs of many types. In an effort to control these populations we are to take our trash to the trash chute every day. Now somedays that is not possible for me, plus I don’t like feeding these populations thereby increasing the said populations.

So the last thing I put in my refrigerator was a plastic bag from the grocery store. Any trash that is touched by food goes in that bag until it is taken to the trash chute. Regular trash can go in the trash cans and will be gathered when my aide is ready to fill a bag, but the food trash bag is emptied every night Monday through Friday when the aide is here and then sits overnight in the fridge Saturday and Sunday until she returns.
