Welcome to The Three Things Challenge.
Below are three things that may, or may not, be related. Simply read the prompt and see where your creativity takes you.
You can use one, two or all three words in your post, there are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
You can use 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and my logo if you wish.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post, then leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. You might like to check out some of the other contributions while you’re there.
I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30 am UK time, but pingbacks have to be approved manually so might not show immediately. This could be because I’m late accessing my blog or due to time differences, but I will get there, I promise!
I look forward to reading your responses, and as always thank you all for your continued support.
Your three words are:
The Birthday Party Part 36 (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, Part 12, Part 13, Part 14, Part 15, Part 16, Part 17, Part 18, Part 19, Part 20, Part 21, Part 22, Part 23, Part 24, Part 25, Part 26, Part 27, Part 28, Part 29, Part 30, Part 31, Part 32, Part 33, Part 34, Part 35)
“I asked my parents what date we should pick for the wedding. As usual my dad defaulted to my mom’s opinion. Now you see why I told you to just plan everything yourself. It is normal in my family for my mom to make all the decisions unless it is something my dad absolutely has to make a decision on for some reason,” Thomas smiled ruefully at Ginny.
“Oh boy, you are such a help. I want this to be our wedding, not just mine. Can I ask you some decisions please? By the way, your dad is a really cool guy, so if that is all you inherited from him I guess I am pretty lucky.”
“My mom called the church and asked what the first available date is. After consultation they said they have had a cancelation on the second Saturday of August. They warned her that they filled up fast though. Mom is thinking we should take it since you won’t be in school then and you would only have to miss a couple of days of work and I would only have to miss about 2 days of work and school. We do need to keep the honeymoon short though due to costs.
“August sounds nice Thomas. It is less than a year away although we just might have to figure out if it is long enough away that we can book a reception in about 6 months time. If you weren’t Catholic or set on having a Catholic wedding then we could get one of those venues that does both the wedding and the reception together. I can see by the look on your face that you are about to argue here and no I am not regretting a Catholic wedding. I was just mentioning that. Good the frown went away.”
“You know Ginny, we already have a strong bond between us and I am very happy that you are going to be my wife and I can’t wait. Where would you like to have our honeymoon? I have been thinking about a beach setting. We live in a state with an ocean so we wouldn’t have to go far, thereby cutting down the cost of our honeymoon.”
“Thomas I would think that since we have been celibate and it is our honeymoon that we won’t be all that interested in sitting on a beach all day. We can still go out and walk on the beach or the boardwalk if they have one. We could probably play miniature golf and go boating and even fishing if you like to fish to fish.”
“Okay, the New Jersey shore it is. We’ll stay the night of the wedding and then Sunday, Monday and leave Tuesday morning to come home. You’ll have to take Friday night and Saturday night off and you’ll be back in time for Wednesday night at the restaurant. I will miss three days of work and two days of school.
