You can use one, two or all three words in your post, there are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
You can use 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and my logo if you wish.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post, then leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. You might like to check out some of the other contributions while you’re there.

I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30 am UK time, but pingbacks have to be approved manually so might not show immediately. This could be because I’m late accessing my blog or due to time differences, but I will get there, I promise!
I look forward to reading your responses, and as always thank you all for your continued support.

“Miss Ginny, your mother was a very kind and gentle soul. I am sorry to have to tell you that she has passed away already. The doctor is with her.”

Ginny entered her mother’s bedroom and met the doctor. Ever inquisitive, she asked the doctor what happened.

“Ginny, as for my best guess here, is that your mother had a massive stroke and there was not time to call 9-1-1 to get an ambulance here in time. The nurses called, but she was already dead by the time the ambulance arrived. They said she complained of a terrible headache and her eyelids started to droop, indicating a stroke. They called for the ambulance, but the reality is that it was too late and your mother had the “Do Not Resuscitate” request which they had out to show them. They couldn’t have done anything even if they had arrived in time. Do you understand?” The doctor watched closely as Thomas took Ginny into his strong arms and hugged her close, wiping away her tears with his fingers. Someone handed them a tissue.

“Miss Ginny,” her mother’s nurse said. “You must come home now, right now. I think your mother is about to pass away.” She was frantic and Ginny looked at Thomas in horror. This can’t be happening right now.

“Thomas I have to go home right now. The nurse thinks my mom is about to die if she isn’t already dead. Oh my God, this can’t be happening. I know she is very sick, but I didn’t expect the end to be so soon. Can you please drive me? I don’t think I can drive in this condition.”

“Oh my God Ginny, of course, I will drive you. Get your coat and I will tell Mom and Dad before we leave.”

On the drive they held hands, Ginny was crying and talking about hoping they make it before she passes away. “Thomas I will have to notify her next of kin. The list isn’t very long, but I still have to do it. Why now? I wanted her to see me marry the man of my dreams.”

They pulled into the driveway and rushed inside. The nurse met them at the bedroom door.

Twenty Years Later

By Tessa Dean February 2021

Kara and Sonny were sailing slowly past the Eiffel Tower. They shared a kiss, one full of love and remembrance.

They reminisced about this very same trip taken 20 years ago on their honeymoon. They decided to celebrate their 20th anniversary by taking the very same trip. Their feelings today even stronger than they were 20 years ago.

“Sonny do you remember what I said to you on our honeymoon trip 20 years ago?” Kara asks him shyly and wondering what his response would be.

“Certainly, honey, you told me we were expecting our first child. Wait, are you telling me you are pregnant again? And at your age? I thought we were done with having more children.”

“Well, Sonny, God sees it another way. And yes, we are pregnant again. I am 8 weeks along. The doctor has already told me that it will be harder now at my age, but not impossible. A lot of his patients are my age and are giving birth to perfectly healthy babies. I can hardly wait.”

“Kara, my love, I am excited and can hardly wait myself. I know we wanted another child, but it didn’t look like it was going to happen and now, our 2nd honeymoon, you say the exact same words. What a blessing it is.”

The Weekly Smile for the 15th of February, 2021 #weeklysmile

My smiles:

The smile is that the prompt story I wrote about last week is now 36 parts. Moving right along and will eventually be part 2 in the murder series I am writing. The first one was easier. Easing into part 2 might be a bit harder.

And my second smile is that the injections in my knees are helping somewhat. The pain is less intense. Yeah!
