Twenty Years Later
By Tessa Dean February 2021
Kara and Sonny were sailing slowly past the Eiffel Tower. They shared a kiss, one full of love and remembrance.
They reminisced about this very same trip taken 20 years ago on their honeymoon. They decided to celebrate their 20th anniversary by taking the very same trip. Their feelings today even stronger than they were 20 years ago.
“Sonny do you remember what I said to you on our honeymoon trip 20 years ago?” Kara asks him shyly and wondering what his response would be.
“Certainly, honey, you told me we were expecting our first child. Wait, are you telling me you are pregnant again? And at your age? I thought we were done with having more children.”
“Well, Sonny, God sees it another way. And yes, we are pregnant again. I am 8 weeks along. The doctor has already told me that it will be harder now at my age, but not impossible. A lot of his patients are my age and are giving birth to perfectly healthy babies. I can hardly wait.”
“Kara, my love, I am excited and can hardly wait myself. I know we wanted another child, but it didn’t look like it was going to happen and now, our 2nd honeymoon, you say the exact same words. What a blessing it is.”
