The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 20, 2021

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “nerve.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

***************

As I was growing up my mom always referred to my anxiety as a case of nerves. She was always giving me nerve medicine to calm down my nerves, etc.

I have also heard it said as you are getting on my last nerve, by someone just before they bashed them over the head or broke their leg, arm, etc.

Right now my nerves are on edge and very raw. I am anxiety-ridden for sure. This damn pandemic is not helping matters any. People who are normally gentle can get a bad case of nerves due to the pandemic.

  1. My mom said the same to me/about me. Her nervous daughter wearing her heart on her sleeve. She never gave me nerve medicine. I’d be told it’s just butterflies and I’d be fine.

  2. I agree, those of us who deal with anxiety are carrying a heavy load in the pandemic. Wish there was something we could do for you but all I can say is I understand. 💛

  3. I believe it’s going to bet better. When I notice anxiety getting a hold on me, I either focus on the facts of the present or escape into movies or books. Take care, Tessa!
