I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30 am UK time, but pingbacks have to be approved manually so might not show immediately. This could be because I’m late accessing my blog or due to time differences, but I will get there, I promise!
I look forward to reading your responses, and as always thank you all for your continued support.

Beach Party Part 5 (Part 1Part 2Part 3, Part 4)

By Tessa Dean March 2020

“Can we stop watching these movies,” Cassandra asked, her face buried in Peter’s chest. “I’m frightened!”

“Rhonda Jo, turn it off please,” Peter asked, hugging Cassandra to him. “I have seen enough myself I think. What else do you guys want to do?”

“Hey don’t turn that television off, Rhonda Jo,” Charlie said. “This is the best part.

“Oh come on guys, can’t we watch the end at least,” Marianne chimed in.

Peter stood up, grabbed Cassandra’s hand and pulled her up off the couch. “Come on, Cassandra, we’re leaving!” Peter turned on his heel and half-dragged Cassie out of there.

Slamming the door behind them he headed for his truck and pulled on the door handle. It was locked. “What the hell! Is the other side locked too?”

Cassie pulled on the door handle and the door wouldn’t open. “Who locked it? We left it unlocked and the keys in the ignition. I can see them from here,” Cassie asked a dumbfounded Peter.

“I don’t know, but if I find out I just might kill them. This is ridiculous. Go ask Rhonda Jo if she has a metal coat hanger so I can pick this lock. Good thing it is an old truck. Those newer locks are hard to pick.”

Rhonda Jo brought out a metal coat hanger. “Who would lock your doors? We all know you leave them unlocked and the keys in the ignition while parked here.”

“I bet it was Charlie. He’s been a pain in the ass all day. If I find out he did it I am kicking his ass. I am so tired of his crap. I don’t know what Marianne sees in him.”

The lock popped open and Peter handed the coat hanger back to Rhonda Jo. “Just in case it happens while we are here again. Come on Cassie, I am ready to get out of here.”

“Where should we go? I have to work from 4:00 PM to Midnight tonight so take me home so I can get ready I guess. I am working tomorrow night as well. The same hours.”

“You work every weekend night. I want to go out and party. Why do you have to work so damn much?”

“We’ve been through this over and over again. I have to help my Mom out since she is a single mom of five kids. Why don’t you get a job and get yourself a new truck and money to spend on a date when I do have some time off?”

“I am not ready to work yet. I work around the house for gas money for the truck. No job for me.”

“Hey,” he said. “Who are you calling a jerk.”

“You! I work hard for my family and you just lie around basically doing nothing except an occasional yard job or something your mom wants done. Even if I had time off we can’t go on a date because you don’t have any money. You are a lazy bum!”

She got in the truck and slammed the door. Peter got in the other side and ignored Cassie pouting in the seat beside him although she was in the passenger seat and not sitting right beside him like she usually did. Peter wondered how this fight even started. He drove her home and she stamped out and muttered a good bye. No kiss even. Boy she was pissed he thought. Now what?
