Welcome to Share Your World and Melanie’s Rules!

How well do you know your next-door neighbors?   Do you like them?   (credit to Cyranny for the question) Well here’s the thing. I am crammed into a high rise. There are mere feet between our doors. Some are ok and some “OH MY GOD!” Does that help? One is great and will do anything for me without expecting something in return. The other one expects everything with me and then remembers he needs to be helpful to me so I will continue to do things for him. He does take advantage of me, but I let it go as he does things in return so fair is fair. The other’s I don’t care one way or the other. I am only close to a few people in that 100 apartment high rise.

Do you have a full length mirror?  (credit to Sadje for the rest of the questions) No, I only have a mirror in the bathroom and can barely see in it.

(for the men)  Do you shave every day or do you like the ‘stubble’ look, or a beard?

(for the ladies)   How long do you spend putting on make-up in the morning? I do not wear or own makeup. I am who I am, take me or leave me, doesn’t matter to me and if makeup is that big a deal I don’t need you in my life.

How many items of clothing are in your bedroom (or closet) and not hung up? This pains me, but I am a hoarder and a slob so there are probably about 40 plus items not hung up. And there are way too many for me to wear so I have too many period.

  1. Thank you for Sharing Your World Tessa! If you know two people even in a high rise that large, you’re a lot more friendly than I’d be! I lived when I was young in a 50 unit apartment building, and knew nobody at all, and didn’t want to. I went to work at the crack of dawn and usually came home, wiped out, and just vegged in front of the TV. The only socialization I did was go to the complex’s swimming pool now and then. Sometimes, someone there would try to strike up a conversation, but like you, I’m fairly introverted and I didn’t have a thing to say to them. I agree with the makeup thing, I haven’t used any (except for special occasions) in over ten years, and now? It makes my face break out anyway. Some folks have a ‘knack’ for being tidy with their clothing, and others (I’m among them) are more casual about the whole thing. Like you, I have far too many clothes and at least half are stuffed in the back of my walk-in closet waiting until I get the energy to do a load of wash. No judgment from me about that!

    1. The one set of neighbors have my key and take care of anything I need and when I go into the hospital they watch out for packages and stuff. The other one is a little nutty, but he can cook and he cooks for me quite a bit especially shrimp dinners. That works for me.
