Three Things Challenge 537

Pensitivity101 Rules:

Welcome to The Three Things Challenge.
Below are three things that may, or may not, be related. Simply read the prompt and see where your creativity takes you.
You can use one, two or all three words in your post, there are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
You can use 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and my logo if you wish.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post, then leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. You might like to check out some of the other contributions while you’re there.

I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30 am UK time, but pingbacks have to be approved manually so might not show immediately. This could be because I’m late accessing my blog or due to time differences, but I will get there, I promise!
I look forward to reading your responses, and as always thank you all for your continued support.

Your three words are:

**********Cassie’s Point Of View**********

Cassie stretched out on her bed after turning off the alarm clock. It was a rainy morning and she was in no rush to get ready for school. She simply put her arms behind her head and rubbed her neck while she watched the little bird out of her window. He was staring intently at her. She pondered what he was thinking as he watched her.

“Cassie,” he mother called from down the hall. “Are you ready for school yet? I have to use the bathroom to get ready for work.”

“Damn,” Cassie uttered under her breath. Her mom was going to know that something was wrong. “I’m coming!” She ran down the hall and hoped her mother wouldn’t notice the fact that she wasn’t her usual bubbly self. She was usually excited to go to school, but not today. She just wanted to crawl back under the covers.

Her mother followed her into the bathroom. “Ok, what is up with you today young lady?”

Clearing her throat, Cassie managed to utter “Ummm.” She then turned away from her mother sure that her very thoughts were there for her to see.

Her mother reached out to hug her and she flinched. Now this was the Cassie she was used to. “Cassie, please tell me what is going on. You were excited a few days ago about this new guy and now you don’t want to get out of bed and go to school. I know something is up.”

Turning her back on her mother, she said, “I don’t want to talk about it right now. Can we please drop the subject? I have to get ready for school.”

Reluctantly her mother left the room. She heard the lock click from the inside.

**********Wayne’s Point of View**********

Wayne sighed heavily. Cassie had called again last night and he ignored the call. It was the only phone in that pile still ringing. The others had got the message and gone away. Cassie was determined and that annoyed him to no end.

He narrowed his eyes. He crossed his arms and tapped his foot. What should he do about this one? She was still talking about their “date” when he was feeling better. She was a lot smarter than he realized.

He was afraid if he agreed to the date then she would have her “friends” watch out for her. It was obvious they were all close and watched out for each other. If he agreed to one date he was setting himself up for more and she obviously doesn’t let go once she has you in her clutches. Look at the boyfriend from when she was a young child. She just assumed they would be together forever and he had to shock her into letting him go. That is where he went wrong. He should have realized that once she is determined about something she would continue that way. She now sees something she wants more than that old boyfriend. He made himself more appealing before he realized what had happened.

He could put a wig on and take out the blue contact lenses. She most likely wouldn’t recognize him, but going near her was asking for trouble. He felt himself drawn to her though and that was part of his problem here. He could simply tell her to get lost, but he was drawn to her as well. For now! What happens when he is tired of her? She doesn’t let go easily he has already seen that in her personality. And the friends she grew up with, well they would probably follow him home and he couldn’t have that. How to get her away from them was his new problem to figure out. Since it was raining today he had plenty of time for introspection and answers to his problem. He didn’t want to have to resort to the final ending, but if she didn’t let go soon it might be his only chance to get rid of her.

      1. It is quite interesting and sometimes I have to really think about how to put the words and the pictures when I use them into a story that makes sense. Most of the time the words and photo are in no way related.
