And I have had the boot for 2 weeks. I think they’re holding me hostage. They want me to do all these things before letting me leave but I couldn’t do them before. A nurse told me that the doctor has to release me and rehab has to release me and the social worker has to release me and said don’t tell anyone but then they check to see how long your insurance will cover you to make their final decision on when to discharge. I don’t even have a tentative date yet. I was told that it would probably take 1-2 weeks after they decide I am ready. That sounds like something this sleazy hospital would do. I still need to figure out how to report them once I am out of here. They say you can report these instances with out retaliation but I am not stupid enough to believe that one.

My name is Tessa Dean and I am an author and blogger. My writing styles vary and I love writing using prompts.
I am also writing my first book, a Memoir entitled "Government Property - A Memoir of a Military Wife". This is being published on the blog rather than the traditional way. I am putting up chapters as I go along. I keep my blog filled with useful content, stories, and poems. Plenty to keep you busy. I have also been interviewed by blogs and had other posts published on many different blogs. I also wrote a series of articles on Bipolar Disorder for IBPF (International Bipolar Foundation).
I am in my 60’s and disabled which allows me plenty of time to write to my heart’s content.
I live in southern New Jersey and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My oldest grandchild is a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps.

If you would like to report them, find out who is over their organization. I warn you that it probably won’t do a lot of good, because frankly (my opinion) they cover each other’s backs at the patient’s cost. Start with the in-hospital patient/public relations people. Air your complaints, document them yourself (write them down). If necessary see about a lawyer (you can find those who don’t charge for the initial consultation). Bad patient care is a pandemic all its own in my opinion. I hope you find some satisfaction, even if it is only getting to tell your story your way.

That is what I am afraid of Melanie. They tell you that you can report abuse without fear of reprisal, but I didn’t believe that. I said nothing of my possible attempt to report them. I expected things to get worse if I did. You just confirmed my feelings. I have experienced this only in the rehab hospitals that are connected to long term care facilities (nursing homes). My father is in a nursing home and my sister is always fighting a battle for him and how they care for him. In fact he was in this one I was in but when it had to go long term care they wouldn’t take him because he was medicaid, state run and they only take private pay patients except in the rehab I was in. Medicaid or my other state help will pay their bills. Thanks for letting me know. I think you are right. I don’t have the energy or desire to fight a losing battle.
