Welcome to The Three Things Challenge.
Below are three things that may, or may not, be related. Simply read the prompt and see where your creativity takes you.
You can use one, two or all three words in your post, there are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
You can use 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and my logo if you wish.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post, then leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. You might like to check out some of the other contributions while you’re there.
I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30 am UK time, but pingbacks have to be approved manually so might not show immediately. This could be because I’m late accessing my blog or due to time differences, but I will get there, I promise!
I look forward to reading your responses, and as always thank you all for your continued support.
Your three words are:
WISP
CARESS
FINGERTIPS

Wind Storm!
By Tessa Dean June 2021
She turned towards him with a wisp of a smile. She caressed his arm with her fingertips. He finished putting up the tent and led her towards the opening. They zipped themselves in, and lips met lips only to have a huge windstorm tear through the campsite and rip the tent from around them, exposing them to the elements.
He held her close as the tree limbs battered the ground around them. Then finally, he looked for somewhere safe for them to go and decided that the cars would be the safest place to get out of the sudden wind.

Cars don’t sound hugely safe from a storm that can bring down trees. I hope they’re okay

I thought about that, but it seemed better than being out in the storm itself.

Typical whenever you sit down for a quiet moment all hell breaks loose! Good story!

Well, that certainly did not go as planned. Hopefully the car will be a safe haven. Well done, Tessa.

Something I’ve personally experienced, albeit on my own! I’m off with my tent again soon. Fingers crossed!

I hope you don’t run into a windstorm again. That would be frightening. Have fun with your tent. I am not a tent camper. The only camping I would do and that was over 20 years ago while still married, was in a camper. I hate tents LOL!

A rude interruption, for sure. I hope they find safe shelter in the car!
