Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “contains ‘igh.’” Find a word that contains the letters “igh” in that order and use it in your post. Enjoy!

My eyesight is getting worse. I have diabetes and it is one of the problems due to diabetes. The higher your sugar levels the worse your eyesight is. The frightening thought is that at any time, without warning, I could become blind. I have diabetic retinopathy. The damage is not reversible. I already have loss of feeling in my feet and fingers due to neuropathy from the diabetes.
The night I broke my foot I couldn’t feel the bottom half of my body and so when the foot turned under me and broke, I didn’t even feel it (the good thing), but by the time I arrived at the hospital it was beginning to hurt. Once I had a splinter in the bottom of my foot which I didn’t feel going in or feel the doctor digging it out.
I have over eight different major things wrong with me. That is why my kids are fighting to have me put into an assisted living facility. It is dangerous for me to live alone.

Thank you Sadje. I will be glad once everything is over and I am settled somewhere. I could have used the 24 hour nursing to talk to about this pain in my foot and is it normal after a break. I have never broken a bone before and have nothing to compare this to.

I asked my own podiatrist (foot doctor) and he said yes, unfortunately I have months of pain ahead of me.
