The Ring Part 9 (Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6Part 7, Part 8)

By Tessa Dean July 2021

Scott printed out five copies of that report on the dangerous professor at the local college and then told Eileen that he wanted to check out another one of the background sites to see if there was any other information. He pulled up the link to the one he used on his potential employees and put the professor’s name in. Scott couldn’t believe the reason they had to pull these reports. Men like him should be castrated ran through Scott’s mind.

Eileen was practically holding her breath. “Breathe honey,” Scott said. “You are safe here for now.” Kyle pulled her close for a hug. He didn’t dare do any of his stupid jokes at that point as Eileen was upset enough and he didn’t want to be the reason to upset her anymore. He couldn’t blame her. This professor was not a dude to mess with.

As the next report came up they all studied it. The information looked pretty much the same. Scott printed out five copies of this one as well. Scott wondered if he should call in his favorite detective. Over the years and the problems he and Sarah had, the two of them had become friends. He asked Sarah whether she thought it would be good idea to pull in Detective Jack Fisher. She nodded enthusiastically. “He might come in handy with something we may not think of. Is that ok with you Eileen and Kyle?”

With tears in her eyes, Eileen, said, “Yes, Sarah I would feel much better with a policeman involved.”

Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt #216 – 80 Words using Tether

wk 216 tether

The Ring Part 8 (Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6, Part 7)

By Tessa Dean July 2021

**********80 words using tether

Scott brought the dog, Micro Chip, out of the house on a leash and headed into the backyard. He noticed the neighbor’s cow had wandered into their yard again. He would have to call and let them know it was over here.

Scott took Chippy, as he was known, out to the stake where he tethered him on the rare occasion he had to leave him outside. Due to Eileen’s fear of dogs, he had to bring him out tonight.

**********

Returning to his desk, Scott opened a browser and asked Eileen which background check she used. He pulled it up and had her sign in and open the report. A smiling face met them. He certainly wasn’t homely. No wonder the college coeds were all over him and since he proclaimed himself an eligible bachelor the women flocked to him and he welcomed the attention.

With Eileen, Kyle and Sarah reading over his shoulder he worked his way down the report. “Wow, what a piece of work,” Scott said as he finished reading. Sarah was horrified over what she read and was terrified that Eileen could be in serious danger. This wasn’t just a man getting his thrills watching sexy girls. He was a menace to society from what she had heard from Eileen and from what the report said. She worried about Eileen even more.

Eileen was a young girl and even though she had a fiancé she was still at risk if this man was fixated on her and it sounded like he was. They would need to think about this very carefully.

“Oh Sarah,” Scott said. “The neighbor’s cow is over drinking in our pond again. Can you give her a call and let her know?”
