Welcome to The Three Things Challenge.
Below are three things that may, or may not, be related. Simply read the prompt and see where your creativity takes you.
You can use one, two or all three words in your post, there are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
You can use 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and my logo if you wish.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post, then leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. You might like to check out some of the other contributions while you’re there.
I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30 am UK time, but pingbacks have to be approved manually so might not show immediately. This could be because I’m late accessing my blog or due to time differences, but I will get there, I promise!
I look forward to reading your responses, and as always thank you all for your continued support.
Your three words are:
By Tessa Dean July 2021
“Hold on there,” Eileen returned to the house yelling at the top of her lungs. Kyle folded her into his arms and reminded her that the twins were sleeping. “Oh sorry,” she said quietly. “Ok, listen, I know you had to sell me on the whole detective thing, but I can’t let that jerk hurt anymore women. Kyle, I wish I could have told you this sooner, but that man raped me repeatedly and threatened to kill me if I so much as said one word about it.”
“What did you just say that creep did to you?” Kyle was the one shouting now. He grabbed a hold of her and hugged her close, wiping the tears from her eyes.
“When he saw you propose and I accepted it, he was furious. I could see him back there watching us. I am sure the grade was to make me come to him and he would possibly punish me in some way or maybe he would actually kill me since he killed his wife for heaven only knows what.”
“Detective Fisher,” Eileen turned to the detective, “I didn’t want to do this. I still don’t want to do this, but I can’t keep letting this go on with me or with anyone else he might be treating in the same way. That man is evil. I will testify, but it is going to take more than me. The background reports are helpful, but they won’t make those women testify. There are probably some here as well, besides me, but how do we get them to testify? If I start talking to women, it will get back to him and I will be dead. If you start talking to those women on the report he might very well hear about it from some of them who are still afraid of him.
