Welcome to The Three Things Challenge.
Below are three things that may, or may not, be related. Simply read the prompt and see where your creativity takes you.
You can use one, two or all three words in your post, there are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
You can use 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and my logo if you wish.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post, then leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. You might like to check out some of the other contributions while you’re there.
I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30 am UK time, but pingbacks have to be approved manually so might not show immediately. This could be because I’m late accessing my blog or due to time differences, but I will get there, I promise!
I look forward to reading your responses, and as always thank you all for your continued support.
Your three words are:
By Tessa Dean July 2021
Detective Jack Fisher looked up at the vast sky as if asking for a prayer from God. In a way he was. He didn’t want Eileen to back out, but the more he said the more she bacame cast as a role of a victim, which she was, but he wanted a spunky Eileen, the one Sarah and Scott Callan told him about who had arrived there earlier that day, gung ho on taking this professor down. Right now a part of that Eileen had returned, but she was still quite terrified and who wouldn’t be facing down the monster that had raped and most likely beaten her as well. She hadn’t mentioned the beating, but all the other victims had mentioned it before they suddenly refused to testify against him. He had to ask her.
“Eileen, before we head to the police station can you tell me exactly when was the last time he raped you and did he also beat you?” He noticed she was wearing a turtle neck sweater and long sleeves and pants despite it being the end of April and quite warm ouside which made him wonder if she had been beaten as well.
Tears formed in her eyes again, “Oh Kyle, I hope you don’t hate me, but when I told you I had a headache last night and begged off sex it was because the professor had beaten me and then raped me because he saw the proposal. That was my punishment for saying yes to you.”
“Oh God, honey, I would never hate you and well this whole situation is not your fault and there is no one to blame except him. Please don’t worry about that, I love you and always will.”
The detective felt some hope. “Ok there is a possibility that there is still some semen inside if he didn’t use a condom. Please tell me he didn’t.”
“No detective he didn’t use a condom he was hoping to make me pregnant. So far I have been lucky. And he beat me as well so my body is covered with bruises which is one reason I told Kyle no to sex. Kyle think back to every time I told you no. It was because I had just been with that monster.”
“Ok we have to head to the hospital and get a rape kit and pictures documented. Hopefully the sperm are still viable and if you two didn’t have sex than we should only find his sperm in there. I am sorry to put you through this, but we must. It is important to the case.
Sarah speaks up, “If you would feel better with a woman with you I would be glad to come with you for support.”
Eileen turns to her and says, “Thanks I would like that. I am sorry Kyle, but I don’t want you to see me like this. I don’t want you to remember what you would see every time we had sex. It is bad enough I can’t forget it every time, but I don’t want to disappoint you. Please let me have Sarah come along with me.”
“Sure, honey, if that would make you happier. I admit I want to kill the guy right now.”
Detective Fisher said, “Kyle please don’t do anything stupid, especially something that could jeopardize our case. Please promise me.”
“Ok, ok, I won’t do anything. Can we get this over? I want to get back to being engaged to the sexiest and most loveable woman in the world without days of ‘headaches.’ Unless they are real headaches of course.”
“Ok let’s go Eileen and Sarah. Kyle stay here with Scott please. After the exam and she files a statement I will bring her back with me.”
PLEASE FORGIVE THE BLANK AREA, BUT WORDPRESS IS ACTING UP AGAIN.
