Three Things Challenge $684
Welcome to The Three Things Challenge.
Below are three things that may, or may not, be related. Simply read the prompt and see where your creativity takes you.
You can use one, two or all three words in your post, there are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
You can use 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and my logo if you wish.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post, then leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. You might like to check out some of the other contributions while you’re there.
I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30 am UK time, but pingbacks have to be approved manually so might not show immediately. This could be because I’m late accessing my blog or due to time differences, but I will get there, I promise!
I look forward to reading your responses, and as always thank you all for your continued support.

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a stone archway, through which a pond and some steps are visible.
By Tessa Dean August 2021
“Ow, Archie,” Dana turns around and gives Archie a shove away from her. “It is dark in here, and the last thing I need is you kicking my heel. That hurt! Why I allowed you to persuade me to enter this dark, creepy building is beyond me. We could have stayed outside on the steps and watched the pond while we talked. Instead, you have me hiking through a dank old building and walk on the back of my foot. I admit the arch is pretty, but I would have preferred staying outside and looking at it from the outside. Who told you about this place anyhow?”
“I met a man while walking the other day, and he told me about this place. I thought it would be fun to walk through. He showed me pictures of the outside, although I had no idea this place was falling apart on the inside, or I wouldn’t have brought you inside of here. You know I try to make our short times together enjoyable. I’m sorry, I had no idea what we would find inside, and it was so dark, and I didn’t think to bring a flashlight, so I missed that hole, and it tripped me up. I didn’t mean to kick you. Look, let’s get our picnic and the blanket and spread it out near the pond. I brought your favorite lunch. Does that make you feel better?”
“Well, Archie, it will help, I suppose. The day is beautiful and pleasantly cool, so sitting by that pond would be a lovely place to eat our lunch. You’re always so thoughtful. Let’s get out of here. I’m starved.”
