Invitation – Word of the Day Challenge

Rules for the Word of the Day Challenge:

Today’s word of the day is INVITATION.

********************

It was only 3 months to the wedding, and it was time to get the invitations out. It wasn’t a big, fancy wedding, so they didn’t have to have a head count for the reception, so she had time to get the invitations addressed and mailed. Rhonda’s best friend and mother helped her address all the envelopes and put the stamps on them. They made a party of it and enjoyed pizza and wine as they worked.

Seek – Your Daily Word Prompt

Rules for One Daily Prompt:

Your word for the day is SEEK!

********************

The children decided to play a game of hide and seek. Three-year-old Bethie didn’t understand how to play, so she simply stood in plain sight in the middle of the yard. The older kids pretended not to see her and kept asking where is Bethie hiding, and she was clapping her hands and yelling, “Here I am, can’t you see me?” Everyone had a great time.

At Peace

By Tessa Dean November 2022

As we waited to board our plane, I noticed a young man bowing his head in prayer. He had a cross dangling from his earring and wore something on a chain around his neck, which could have been a rosary, but I wasn’t sure as I couldn’t get a glimpse of what it was.

As he was standing in the way of the line, he was jostled quite a bit, but he didn’t stop his prayer until he was done. People had walked around him to board the plane. Finally, I saw him enter, and he seemed more at peace. He seemed calmer than before he started his prayer. The sight of him prompted me to do a prayer for our safety on the trip. I too felt more at peace afterward.

Non-Fiction, Prompt, Share Your World

SHARE YOUR WORLD 11-14-2022

**************************************

Prompt Rules

There are two ways in which you can participate:
Leave your answers in the comments box below or create your own post.
To make it easy for others to check out your post, title your blog post “Share Your World” and link it to this one.

Ping-backs are activated, but don’t always work properly.
I think it is best to leave a link in a comment, just to be sure. It’s okay to just leave the link if you like and don’t have anything else to chat about. If you’d still like to try leaving a ping-back, instructions on how ping-backs work are found by clicking here. Thanks!

I also offer a ‘Gratitude Section’ for those who like a little affirmation with their questions!  It’s always optional to participate in that portion of  SYW of course.

My questions this week then are:

1.   Does the weather affect your mood? Yes, I find a cold, rainy/snowy day to be very depressing.

2.   If a stranger smiles at you or says ‘good morning’ when they pass you in the street, do you return it? Yes, I certainly do.

3.   If you had a choice of just one of these things to eat, what would it be and why?
Chocolate, a sweet pastry, a plate of chips/fries (this is not a forever choice, just one instance). A sweet pastry and a sweet pastry can contain chocolate a two for one deal.

4.  If you could go back to when you were a specific age, what would that be? Why? 21 because I had my first baby, and my marriage had not totally imploded yet.

Ow!

By Tessa Dean November 2022

As I stared into the crawl space, I saw something that scared me, glowing eyes. Just then, I heard a loud clap of thunder, and as I pulled out of the area, I caught my hand on a nail, drawing blood.
