Is it a Plane?

By Tessa Dean November 2022

In the distance, I watched something hovering over the mountains. My passengers and I lingered for hours, trying to determine what it could be. Was it a plane, a hot air balloon, or a UFO? My curious mind wanted to know what it could be. Should I drive over to the mountain range to see what it was? The mountains were pretty far away in the distance. I have to admit I was curious as to what it could be. I would think both planes and hot air balloons wouldn’t just sit in one place. Now a UFO could probably hover for hours, scouring the area for humans, but I am not sure I believe in UFOs. Since there were several of us in the car, we voted on what to do. The consensus seemed to be for us to drive over there and see what it was.

As we approached the mountain range the military had blocked the road, and we were turned back with just the information that the military was testing some new aircraft and we weren’t allowed in the area. They seemed like humans and not aliens, so we had to accept that we were not to be allowed past that point, just like the line of cars behind us. So we all turned around and headed home, disappointed that we wouldn’t be able to see what it actually was up close.
