Popcorn – Word of the Day Challenge

Rules for the Word of the Day Challenge:

Today’s word of the day is POPCORN.

********************

I love popcorn especially the movie theater’s popcorn. I used to work in a theater’s concession stand and loved that they made the popcorn there fresh in a room upstairs.

Due to my health and salt restrictions, popcorn is no longer allowed. I miss it alot.

PROMPT #329

We have a word prompt this week

MAGNUM OPUS

Use it as a theme, word, or synonym in your piece. You can also share a work of art, photograph, anecdote, memory, or true story to illustrate the spirit of the word.

The format of the piece is not restricted, and there is no last date either unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

Any post that is found to be offensive, vulgar, or hurts ordinary sensibilities will not be included. This needs to be a safe space.

Create a post on your blog and copy-paste the link in the Comments. If you use a pingback, check to see if it has worked.

**********

I find the word magnus opus to be a bit clunky when the simple meaning is simply a masterpiece. I am still working on my masterpiece aka as an magnus opus. Really that is so much of a mouthful. The worst part is I had to look it up to even know where to go with this prompt.

My masterpiece is currently my memoir, and I am trying to get back to work on it some more. I have no plans to publish it, but the writing is cathartic.

BiPolar Disorder!

By Tessa Dean May 2024

I am constantly moody due to my BiPolar Disorder. My moods are constantly changing from mania to depression. My medication regimen helps to keep them under partial control but isn’t able to control them completely.

Many people claim that the seasons make a difference in how we react to BiPolar Disorder, but while I will say that cold, rainy days make my depression deeper, I don’t think they actually control my moods. I also find the extreme heat of summer to be a problem as well. I am cranky in the extreme heat, but again, I don’t blame that on the BiPolar Disorder. Many people are cranky in the heat. It is uncomfortable, just like the extreme cold. My favorite season is spring. It is warm, but not excessively so most of the time. A sunny day will lift my mood from a deep depression.

Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt #362 – Classic

Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt Rules:

Car Show

By Tessa Dean May 2024

George approached the classic cars on public display. His dream of having a classic car was still far off. He had to be content with going to the shows that were near him. He hadn’t settled on a specific car. He would be happy to find one that he could afford and restore to its former glory.
