Three Things Challenge #M122

Prompt Rules:

Welcome to my daily Three Things Challenge!
Our numbers now begin with a prefix of M (the Roman numeral for 1000) and I’ve introduced a theme each week. The words can be used in a variety of contexts, so use your imagination and see where your creativity takes you. Your post doesn’t have to be connected to the theme and you can use all three words, two or just one. There are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre, but please keep it family friendly.
Tag your responses with 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC, and add my logo if you wish.

This week’s theme is another random selection.
Your three words today are:
LIES
ATTENTION
SHAME

Shame On You!

By Tessa Dean October 2022

Martin, you should be ashamed of yourself. You are bringing shame onto your family’s heritage by lying about the invention idea you stole from your brother. You don’t get enough attention from your family that you find it necessary to steal your brother’s invention and claim it as yours?” Mary Anne stood up for her brother, who is very quiet and would never tell anyone that his brother stole his invention. However, Mary Anne had no qualms about telling everyone that her older brother Martin had stolen his latest idea from their younger brother Morgan.

Martin, who is hardly ever worried about other people and what they thought was actually afraid of Mary Anne and what she would do. He withdrew his invention from the competition immediately.

“Get your hands off of my candy, you brat!” Ryan pushed his little brother away from his bucket of candy.

“Mom, Stevie won’t let me have a piece of candy.” Ryan wailed, creeping closer to Stevie’s candy again.

“I am going to bash you over the head if you touch my candy,” Stevie shouted to Ryan, making him cry harder.

“Boys, enough of the fighting over the candy, or neither of you will have any. There is more than enough candy for the two of you.” Mom glared at both boys.

  • Please have your entries linked back to the original prompt post by the following Tuesday at Noon GMT.
  • Link back to this post with a pingback (Hugh has an excellent tutorial here)  and/or leave a link in the comments below, to be included in the round-up.
  • Please click their links to visit the blogs of other contributors and take time to read and comment on their work.
  • Use the #writephoto hashtag in your title so your posts can be found.
  • There is no word limit and no style requirements, except that your post must take inspiration from the image and/or the prompt word given in the title of this post.
  • Feel free to use #writephoto logo or include the prompt photo in your post if you wish, or you may replace it with one of your own to illustrate your work.
  • By participating in the #writephoto challenge, please be aware that your post may be featured as a reblog on this blog and I will link to your post for the round-up each week.

Monster’s Bash

By Tessa Dean October 2022

“You first,” Peter pushed Davey towards the building with gargoyles along the top.

Davey replied, “No!” and pushed back at Peter. “You go first!”

Neither wanted to be first, and they kept shoving each other.

“It’s a party, stupid. There’s nothing to be afraid of,” Peter told Davey after another push.

Finally, they followed two of their friends into the building. As they crossed the threshold, the door slammed shut behind them, but no one was there with them to slam the door. They tried to open the door, but it was stuck shut.
