Welcome to my daily Three Things Challenge!
Our numbers now begin with a prefix of M (the Roman numeral for 1000) and I’ve introduced a theme each week. The words can be used in a variety of contexts, so use your imagination and see where your creativity takes you. Your post doesn’t have to be connected to the theme and you can use all three words, two or just one. There are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre, but please keep it family friendly.
Tag your responses with 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC, and add my logo if you wish.
This week’s theme is DREAMS
Your three words today are:
HAUNTING
NIGHT
VISION

Haunted House?
By Tessa Dean November 2022
I read in the online news that there was a haunting in a house near me. It was located in the wooded area at the end of the street. The house was old and falling down. It certainly looked haunted. I talked my friends into exploring the house with me. Since we would be going at night to get the full effect, I talked one of my friends into borrowing his father’s night vision goggles from the military. His father was going out for the night, so he wouldn’t know what we were up to.
We approached the house just after dark, and the sun had fully set. Even though this was my idea, I realized I was more scared than I had let on. My friends looked to me for guidance. I tried to relax and headed up the walkway to the front porch of the house. Boy, it was dark, but with the night vision goggles, I could see everything clearly. Everyone was behind me, each armed with a flashlight, but I found the lights messed with the goggles. I told them to turn them off so I could see.
I opened the door, and we all entered. The door slammed shut, which made us all scream. The door hadn’t locked, so I continued on. I walked through the downstairs, and it wasn’t until I reached the second floor that I realized that I was seeing a boy I didn’t know. I spoke to him and asked him who he was. He didn’t say a word, just stared at me. I went up to him to touch him, and my hand went through him.
Now was the time to get out of there. We all turned and ran downstairs and out the front door. I gave Jonesy his father’s goggles back and headed home, vowing never to return there. I don’t know who that boy was, but he wasn’t real if I could put my hand through him like that.
