What do you see # 240

For the visually challenged reader, this image shows an open book lying on a flat surface, its pages ruffled as by wind. Behind we see a luminous blue globe, and some fuzzy fairy lights, and in the distance a cloudy sky can be seen.

Reflections

By Tessa Dean May 2024

Maisie laid out her journaling supplies on the little table she had set up, which had a blue tablecloth and a spherical light with a blue bulb surrounded by twinkling fairy lights. These helped her set the mood while she journaled about her day.

Once set up, Maisie would reflect on the day that had just passed. She always journaled just before bed. Today, she was reflecting on the anniversary of her mother’s death. She missed her so much and had always been able to talk to her about anything. Now, all she had was her journal to talk to. She told her journal everything.

Dear Journal……

My smile:

I have finally found my joy in writing again. I am spending my time with my writing prompts and working on my memoir. The section of the piece I am working on is my marriage. I am so glad to be writing again. I went almost 2 years without writing at all except for an occasional email and they were few and far between.

Prompt Rules

There are two ways in which you can participate:
Leave your answers in the comments box below or create your own post.
To make it easy for others to check out your post, title your blog post “Share Your World” and link it to this one.

Ping-backs are activated, but don’t always work properly.
I think it is best to leave a link in a comment, just to be sure. It’s okay to just leave the link if you like and don’t have anything else to chat about. If you’d still like to try leaving a ping-back, instructions on how ping-backs work are found by clicking here. Thanks!

Here are this week’s questions:

  1.  What frustrates you the most about modern day living? The “me, me, me” mentality. Everyone thinks the world revolves around them.
  2.  What was your favourite decade and why? The 1970s when I had my first two children and was a military wife.
  3.  What was your ‘best buy’ (for example: house, car, clothes, computer etc) My last pc desktop computer as it contains a camera and microphone. I used it to do live streams on YouTube before I moved into this facility.
  4.  Do you have any non medicinal allergies? None now, but strawberries when I was a child. They don’t bother me now that I am an adult.

FOWC

Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.). Today’s word is TELEPHONE.

I am also using the Three Things Challenge for today #M707.

Your three words today are:
HUNTER
STALK
GUARD

I also used Melissa’s Flash Fiction Challenge #270.

The image is from Jonathon Pinet at Unsplash.

The image depicts a sleek, black crow, perched on brown rocks. The rocks overlook a body of water. Across, on the other side of the water, we can make out the coastline. It appears there are trees and some buildings. The sky is bright blue with puffy white clouds.

Roger picked up his mobile telephone and quickly called his brother Randy. Randy was also a hunter, and Roger wanted to tell him about a new place he found that was well-populated with deer. He figured they were being hunted as he noticed the crows circling the area looking for carrion and found several well-picked-over carcasses. Roger stood guard, stalking the deer in the area while he waited for Roger to arrive with his hunting rifle. Both brothers used deer meat for venison and didn’t just kill for the fun of it. Judging by the amount of carcasses in the area, many hunters just hunted for the thrill of the kill. They left the carcass where it fell.
