For the visually challenged reader, this image shows a Caucasian baby around one year old, staring into the camera with her big blue-grey eyes. In her hands, she’s holding a wooden block that she is trying to eat.

Blue Eyes

By Tessa Dean June 2024

Vicky’s bright blue eyes twinkled as she happily chewed on her block. She was teething, so most of her toys ended up in her mouth. She chewed on them to soothe her aching gums.

Her mother looked around the area to see if anything was lying out that could be dangerous for a teething baby. They had a few close calls when she had first started to teethe. Jeanie found her gnawing on a wire one day. She rushed to her and grabbed it from her mouth, causing Vicky to throw a temper tantrum. She now tried to ensure all the wires were tucked behind the furniture so she couldn’t reach them. She also tried to keep a large supply of teething toys. Hopefully, she wouldn’t look for anything else to put in her mouth if she had plenty of toys.

  1. Since my youngest granddaughter has recently passed this stage I understand perfectly how dangerous anything harmful can be around small babies. Thanks Tessa for joining in.
